At Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, our Neuro team provides specialized care for patients facing some of their most complex healthcare challenges. We are seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while advancing their clinical expertise in neuroscience nursing.
As a Neuro RN, you'll care for patients with a variety of neurological conditions and play a vital role in helping them recover, regain independence, and improve their quality of life.
What You'll DoAs a Registered Nurse on our Neuro Unit, you will provide specialized, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing neurological disorders, injuries, and post-surgical recovery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients with neurological conditions
- Monitor and recognize changes in neurological status, responding appropriately to patient needs
- Care for patients with conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological disorders
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to established clinical protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, recovery expectations, and ongoing care needs
- Provide compassionate support to patients and loved ones navigating complex healthcare situations
- Maintain accurate documentation and promote quality, safety, and evidence-based nursing practices

Qualifications RequiredActive Registered Nurse (RN) license
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Red Cross BLS certification upon hire
PreferredOne year of previous clinical nursing experience
