Responsible for providing the full range of resource services to foster and/or adoptive families within state mandates, COA standards, agency policies, and program plans. Also responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of assigned CCS programs; may include one or more program sites generally involving multiple service lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct in-depth, mutual assessment of prospective foster and/or adoptive families to determine suitability for foster home licensing in accordance with DCFS Rule 402, the Child Care Act, agency policies and procedures as well as other applicable rules and procedures.
- Conduct ongoing mutual assessment with licensed families to ensure quality care for children for purposes of monitoring, license renewal and/or enforcement.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the recruitment plan for new foster homes.
- Efforts should be made to secure foster families that can be matched to the population served by the program.
- Provide direct supervision, training, support, review and evaluation for assigned staff.
- Ensure job duties of the team and direct reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide foster parent and staff development training to fulfill agency, DCFS, and COA requirements.
- Collaborate with other management staff in programs and network on programmatic, fiscal, organizational and community issues.
- Compile reports or data as required by management of government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and completes required documentation in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences present in both the agency’s service population and staff.
- Promote working relationships with community organizations, churches, funding bodies, and other providers.
- May provide direct services or perform some of the same duties as assigned staff.
- Actively participate in the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement Process.
- Respond to all incoming correspondence and questions in a timely manner; including but not limited to inquires received via email, telephone, text message, and fax.
- Ensure reasonable measures are taken to protect confidential and/or sensitive information as well as ensuring the security of all LSSI systems is maintained.
- Responsible for completing all required training assignments as well as complying with the related organizational, administrative, and programmatic policies.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human service field required.
- Master’s degree in social work or a related human service field preferred.
Licensure/Certification s
- Background check clearance, both criminal and Illinois CANTS.
- State licensing/certification as required by the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
- Minimum of one (1) year of managerial/supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience with Child Welfare preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing required.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to others, influence people, make decisions, plan, direct and/or control work.
- Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
- Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
