Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry (Two Year Programme)
The New Chemistry Unit at JNCASR is offering a two-year Master's Programme in Chemistry for
B.Sc. graduates to pursue mainstream chemistry, with an option to specialize in Materials Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or Energy. This programme includes basic and specialized courses, seminars, and a research project.
- Applicants possessing a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as one of the major subjects are eligible to apply.
- Shortlisting for interviews for the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry will be done based on the performance in the Joint Admission Test for Master's (JAM) 2026 or a written examination conducted by JNCASR.
- Interviews will be held in-person only.
- Scholarship/fellowship will NOT be paid during this tenure.
- Tuition fees – First year (during admission): 7,500/- per year
- Second year onwards: 3,750/- per semester
- Third Year Onwards – (No fee specified)
- Contributory Medical Scheme (CMS) – Every semester (first year onwards): 1,800/- per semester
- Janatha Personal Accident Insurance – Every semester: 150/- per semester
- Statutory and Library Deposit – First year: 10,000/- (One time deposit and refundable)
- Mess Deposit – First year: 10,000/- (One time deposit and refundable)
- Thesis Fee – During thesis submission: (No amount specified)
- Other Academic fees – Per Annum: 3,700/-

- It is mandatory for all the students to have a valid medical insurance policy (self/included with parental medical insurance) while admission to the Centre, and a copy of the health insurance policy should be sent to with cc to , and for records. Students should submit the subsequent renewed health insurance policy in due course to the above-mentioned email IDs.
- Dhanvantari (Clinic) facilities at the Centre – Medicines shall be provided to students who opt for the CMS registration. The OPD facility can be availed by paying a subscription /- p.m. for 6 months on or before 7th January for the period 01‑January to 30‑June and on or before 7th July for 01‑July to 31‑December.
- It is mandatory to have medical insurance policy even if you are a CMS subscriber.
- Non‑CMS subscribers are eligible only for free consultation with doctors at Dhanvantari(Clinic).
- Single Room – 675 per month
- Double Room – 575 per month

The Centre reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to amend, revise, modify, discontinue, or withdraw any fees, fellowships, financial assistance, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, or other provisions at any time.
