SummaryAdjunct faculty are essential to providing a quality academic experience for Indiana Wesleyan University students. Adjuncts will employ a range of engaging teaching strategies designed to foster student learning and stimulate class discussion. Applicants must have appropriate academic or professional experience within the given academic discipline, demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning, and be able to integrate their Christian faith into the classroom content.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Attend and lead all required class sessions
- Promptly assess student coursework and submit via Brightspace (the university’s learning management system)
- Coordinate with Division Chair and/or Academic Dean regarding classroom or student issues in a timely manner
- Strong Christian commitment and adherence to the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement
- Master of Arts in ESL or related field
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level is highly desired
- Excellence in knowledge and skills in relation to the appropriate field(s)
- Competence in teaching ability, along with an eagerness to improve
- Strong testimony of personal faith and commitment to Christ, and agreement to live according to the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement
