Summary of Position: Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University, a leading seminary in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition and the official seminary of The Wesleyan Church, seeks a passionate and innovative faculty member for a full-time teaching faculty position to begin January 1, 2027 (pending final budgetary approval). This is a practical theology position welcoming applicants with expertise from ministry-related fields, such as Christian Pastoral Theology, Church Leadership, Spiritual Formation, Missional Theology, and Pastoral Care.
We are looking for a dynamic and versatile scholar-practitioner who resonates deeply with our mission to equip Christian leaders for missional ministry locally and globally.

Duties and Responsibilities
- A teaching load of 21 credit hours per 12-month contract period
- Oversight of relevant courses within the faculty member’s academic discipline; development of additional course offerings within the discipline and related subject areas
- Administrative oversight of Wesley Seminary Undergraduate programs
- Contribution to program assessment and review processes
- Relevant institutional committee work and service and relevant scholarly activity
- This position requires relocation to the region and regular presence on IWU’s campus in Marion, Indiana
Qualifications:According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
- PhD, DMin, or equivalent terminal degree in a theological or ministry-related discipline (e.g., Practical Theology, Pastoral Theology, Missional Theology, Spiritual Formation, or a closely related field) from an accredited institution
Experience
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively, especially online, at the graduate level, with a student-centered approach
- A deep commitment to and heart for the local church and training pastors and Christian leaders for ministry
- Enthusiastic embrace of the Wesleyan tradition and the ability to function well within a learning community hosted by The Wesleyan Church
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and students from diverse communities and cultures
- Facility with educational technologies such as the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel), online learning management systems, and other supplemental tools (e.g., audio and/or video recording)
