Manufacturing Process Engineer
This role focuses on designing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and consistency across operations. The Manufacturing Process Engineer applies structured problem-solving methods and statistical tools to optimize processes, implements robust process control and discipline systems, and partners closely with operations teams to drive continuous improvement and long-term operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Design and develop new manufacturing processes and improve existing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and reliability.
- Apply fundamental engineering principles and structured problem-solving methods such as Kepner-Tregoe (KT), designed experimentation, or Six Sigma to identify root causes and resolve process issues.
- Implement process control and process discipline systems within manufacturing operations to ensure consistent and stable production.
- Analyze process data using statistical tools such as Pareto charts, regression analysis, time charting, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and gauge R&R to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Measure process performance against established objectives and communicate results clearly to stakeholders.
- Review and interpret process data to recommend immediate corrective actions, long-term improvements, and follow-up experiments.
- Document manufacturing processes in a clear and structured manner to support repeatability and compliance.
- Train operators and peers on defined processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent execution on the shop floor.
- Lead small process development and process improvement projects from concept through implementation, including planning, coordination, and reporting.
- Support equipment installs or commissioning activities by validating process performance and ensuring equipment meets process requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials engineering, or ceramics engineering.
- 3–6 years of work experience in manufacturing process, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering roles.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving mentality with the ability to use structured methods such as KT, designed experimentation, or Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in using statistical tools for process analysis, including Pareto charts, regression analysis, time charting, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and gauge R&R.
- Ability to implement process control and process discipline systems in manufacturing operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly measure, report, and explain performance against objectives.
- Capability to document processes thoroughly and train operators and peers on defined processes.
- Effective presentation skills to communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to various audiences.
- Ability to lead small process development and improvement projects, including planning and execution.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with equipment installation or commissioning in a manufacturing environment.
- Innovation experience, including generating and implementing new ideas to improve processes or products.
- Process excellence training or credentials, such as Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
- Experience working in environments focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

This is an onsite role with core hours typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing direct engagement with manufacturing operations and production teams.
