Chief Executive Officer Afena Federal Credit Union

Afena Federal Credit Union, a nearly $100 million Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) serving Grant, Wabash, Blackford, Jay, and Wells counties since 1957, is seeking its next Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of its current CEO in late 2026/early 2027.

The CEO will partner with the Board of Directors to set and execute strategic direction, ensure financial strength and regulatory soundness, lead a high-performing executive team, and serve as Afena’s face throughout its five-county community — advancing the credit union’s mission of financial wellness and inclusion.

A visionary, community-minded leader with progressive credit union or financial institution executive experience, including CDFI and grant-funding experience; strong knowledge of lending, finance, operations, and enterprise risk management; and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent proven credit union leadership. A credit union executive designation (CCUE, CUDE, or similar) is a plus.

Compensation: Competitive executive compensation, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
