Key Responsibilities

• Observe all safety and company policies and participate in company safety programs; work safely and follow all AIB, GMP and PPE guidelines.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and complying with daily housekeeping and MSS requirements.
• Accurately manage raw materials within the established system.
• Manage the movement of rolls and pallets with a forklift or clamp truck.
• Clean and maintain all equipment and materials; clean required equipment after each changeover as instructed.
• Prepare rolls properly to function efficiently in the splicing operation.
• Accurately execute the splicing of two rolls; understand all functions of the splicing equipment and determine the proper splice timing to minimize waste.
• Manage the viscosity and pH of coatings and inks within established tolerances.
• Properly prepare rewind shafts and understand the functions of the rewind section.
• Perform support functions, such as plate mounting, wastewater management, and anilox cleaning.
• Follow directions from Lead Operators.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

High School diploma or GED required. Requires three years of experience in printing.

• Read, learn, understand, and consistently apply all policies, procedures, and safety instructions.
• Distinguish letters and/or symbols; must pass a color acuity test.
• Mechanical aptitude needed.
• Communicate verbally and in writing effectively; possess good interpersonal skills.
• Operate a forklift and clamp truck and obtain annual certification.
• Work in a manufacturing environment, using a computer, MS Office software, hand tools, and power tools.
• Perform responsibilities with minimal supervision and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
• Willing to learn and perform all tasks and duties required in the department.
• Work any shift schedule.

Continuous mental and visual attention performing diversified activities requiring constant alertness. Requires constant walking and standing for a great amount of time in extreme heat and moderate exposure to extreme cold, dampness, heights, vibration, and skin/lung irritants. Moderate amount of time spent sitting, walking, climbing, bending/twisting, pushing/pulling, carrying, reaching out/above shoulders, and climbing ladders. Lift up to 50+ pounds occasionally and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Significant time spent lifting/lowering and crouching. Work in a noisy environment.
