Service Technician
Location: Buffalo, NY – Elmhurst, IL – Livonia, MI – Indianapolis, IN – Hamilton, OH – Erie, PA – Ithica, NY – Buffalo, NY. In addition, technicians may be required in surrounding areas such as Toledo, OH, Erie, PA, Ithica, NY, and South Bend, IN. This role is typically not eligible for relocation.
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full‑time, hourly position.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

Job OverviewThe Field Service Technician serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw, reciprocating, Centac, and ECC air compressors, along with other compressed‑air system components. Precise measurement tools and a comprehensive knowledge of operations and parts manuals are essential.
ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative maintenance and interact with customers to address equipment concerns. Collaborate with the Service Coordinator on ordering and gathering parts. Assist and train apprentices and Field Service Technicians. Communicate effectively with customers and co‑workers.
- Provide technical assistance on equipment pre‑commissioning, start‑ups, installations, and repairs of compressed‑air systems.
- Increase customer awareness of Ingersoll Rand products, services, and solutions such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection.
- 2+ years of experience troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
- Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major traffic violations in the last 3–5 years.
- Availability to be on‑call (excluding initial 90 days). On‑call weeks may occur every 4 or more weeks.
- Physical ability to lift, kneel, stoop, and perform regular manual tasks. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Reading wiring schematics and diagrams.
- Advanced network systems installations (IMMC/ASC, X Series Automation).
- Basic vibration troubleshooting.
- Basic air quality system maintenance (compressor/dryer, air treatment).
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld computers.
- Maintain proper business travel practices in a cost‑efficient manner.
- Industrial air compressor maintenance and knowledge.
- EPA Certification.
- Veteran/Active‑Duty Military applicants are encouraged.
- Daily travel within a 3‑hour radius of the service area.
- A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.
Pay Range: Starting pay will range between $25.00 – $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
