Summary of Position: The primary responsibilities of the Senior Boiler/Chiller Specialist are: perform and supervise installation, maintenance, and repair of boiler and chiller systems and other HVAC equipment; conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance; diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, implementing effective solutions; perform repairs and component replacements while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards; maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance schedules, service reports, and parts inventory;
collaborate and train with other team members to coordinate service requests; and adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- High‑skill technician responsible for advanced installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of complex chiller and boiler systems in commercial or industrial environments.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair electro‑mechanical systems for commercial chillers and boilers.
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC and emergency equipment such as motors, fan coils, VAVs, heat exchangers, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and pumps; service various types of chillers.
- Provide technical guidance and collaboration with other technicians, including installing, testing, and commissioning new equipment.
- Maintain high expertise in HVAC systems, refrigeration, mechanical and electrical components, controls, and safety systems.
- Perform safety inspections, monitor and maintain boiler water chemistry, and complete preventative and corrective maintenance tasks with detailed CMMS documentation.
- Adhere to code requirements and safety regulations, including OSHA standards; participate in emergency on‑call rotations; stay updated on industry trends and develop client relationships.

Education- High School Diploma or GED
- Required Certifications &
Qualification:- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (mandatory for refrigerant handling)
- Boiler Operator Permit or Inspector License (as required by Indiana DHS)
- Three or more (3+) years of experience in HVAC‑R or boiler/chiller maintenance
- Strong knowledge of boiler and chiller systems, including installations, maintenance, and repair; experience in service work
- Familiarity with NBIC standards and local building codes
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Experience with Trane, Carrier, York, or similar systems
- Knowledge of energy‑efficient upgrades and controls
- NATE Certification or manufacturer‑specific training
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
