Position OverviewAs an Associate Project Manager (APM), you will support the execution of greenfield and brownfield substation construction projects by planning, organizing, and implementing core project management principles. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, field supervision, and project teams to ensure scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives are successfully achieved.
This is a field‑oriented role designed for professionals looking to build a strong foundation in construction project management within the electric utility and substation markets.
Key Responsibilities- Support planning and execution of substation construction and upgrade projects
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, job cost tracking, and reporting
- Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, engineers, and utility stakeholders
- Support procurement activities, material tracking, and documentation control
- Participate in safety planning, job briefings, and compliance initiatives
- Provide on‑site project support throughout long‑term field assignments
- Assist with change management, productivity tracking, and project closeout activities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with job cost tracking and estimating software is a plus
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to travel and commit to long‑term, onsite project assignments
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow as responsibilities and technical challenges evolve
