Primary Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Manager leads and supports the strategic and day‑to‑day events of the quality assurance team in alignment with team and overall business needs and goals. Pursues initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the quality assurance and production teams. Responsible for team member development and seeking ways to continuously improve our products and processes with a customer satisfaction mentality.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Own and drive improvement of Customer and Internal DPPM metrics
  • Establish leading and lagging quality indicators and report trends to leadership
  • Develop and execute quality improvement plans based on performance data
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action processes to ensure effective correction and containment methods are developed
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to drive systemic quality improvements
  • Drive risk‑based thought processes throughout the organization
  • Lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering teams by providing support and oversight on day‑to‑day functions including prioritization, capability development, and performance feedback
  • Own the inspection process to verify products are meeting AS9100, customer and company standards
  • Develop standard methods of work for all inspection and verification processes
  • Interpret technical data in the form of standards, processes and customer product specifications
  • Build strategies for overall testing and inspection plans
  • Create process documents, methods, instructions and other reference materials as needed
  • Lead and support cross‑functional problem‑solving efforts on the production floor by utilizing root cause analysis, conduct investigations into processes and procedures, and execute corrective action plans
  • Lead internal audit program to confirm products and processes are meeting AS9100 and customer requirements
  • Facilitate strategic initiatives associated with overall goals & objectives, company policies, and as directed by Management
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills
  • Minimum

    Education Requirements:
    • 4 year degree in Quality Assurance or in Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering with at least 4 years of related experience OR
    • 2 year degree in Quality Assurance or in Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering with at least 6 years of related experience
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Previous experience with AS9100 or Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • CQE or a Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma is preferred
  • UL 508A and/or IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 Certification is preferred
  • Ability to assess quality assurance and production needs for Wire Harness, Electronics, and Control Panel assemblies
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) is preferred
  • Previous experience with Continuous Improvement/5S activities/LEAN initiatives is preferred
  • Must be able to troubleshoot & diagnose defective products
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Must be skilled and accurate in data entry and be proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus of timeliness and responsiveness
  • Must have a positive attitude with a customer appreciation mentality
