Role DescriptionThe Territory Manager is a full-time, sales role based in Waterloo, IA. This position is responsible for managing and growing a defined sales territory by building relationships with new and existing commercial truck customers, including individual owner-operators and fleet accounts. Day-to-day activities include conducting customer visits, identifying customer needs, presenting GTG Peterbilt products and services, preparing quotes, and following up to close sales opportunities.
The Territory Manager will monitor market trends, maintain accurate account records, and collaborate with internal departments such as service, parts, and finance to ensure seamless customer support. This role also involves attending industry events, training sessions, and maintaining a strong understanding of product features, pricing, and competitive offerings.
- Proven skills in territory sales, account management, and customer relationship development.
- Ability to identify customer needs, present solutions, and negotiate pricing and terms effectively.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for working with diverse customers and internal teams.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to plan daily routes, manage pipelines, and maintain accurate records.
- Familiarity with commercial trucks or related automotive, transportation, or equipment industries is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with using CRM systems, email, and basic office software for reporting and communication.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business or a related field is a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, safety practices, and delivering equitable service to all customers.
