The Charlotte and Walter Kohler, Director of Graduate Studies oversees the MBA and MS-LOD programs, including review/approve graduate applicants for admission, program assessments, faculty observations, curricular proposals, and annual reporting. The endowed position also includes responsibilities for community engagement. The teaching load is 18 credits per academic year. The successful candidate must be prepared to teach a broad range of graduate and undergraduate courses in business, leadership, and management.

Courses are delivered face to face on the home campus as well as through other modalities for non-traditional students. Teaching responsibilities include LO 790 Capstone, BA 790 Corporate Strategy and Decision Making, and additional courses in economics, project management, leadership, management, general studies, and experiential learning supervision. This position also serves as an academic advisor.

This is a full-time, renewable, tenure-track position, with a twelve-month contract period. A terminal degree is required for the ranks of assistant or associate professor and for tenure. Acceptable terminal degrees are as follows:
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business (or related field), or Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.), or Doctor of Management (D.M.). The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience teaching and working in leadership roles in an academic institution or business/industry.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and direct the MBA and MS-LOD program to include assessments, observations, and oversight.
  • Serve as the graduate programs' outreach coordinator with external businesses, leading the Business Board of Advocates.
  • Teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in business, management, strategy, and business to students of varying ability levels in all modalities.
  • Advise students as assigned.
  • Supervise students in experiential learning assignments.
  • Teach within and support the university's general education program.
  • Hold regular office hours on a weekly basis.
  • Respond in a timely manner to calls or emails from students, colleagues, or supervisors.
  • Participate in institutional service opportunities as assigned.
  • Use university technology as directed.
