Job DescriptionMarion City Schools seeks a teacher to co‑lead the STEM/Robotics Program, shaping the educational framework, recruiting students, informing parents, and facilitating recruitment and onboarding of supplementals for staff for the program expansion. The teacher works closely with the co‑teacher and school administration to ensure seamless transitions and uphold the school's commitment to providing rigorous STEM and robotics‑focused education.
Qualifications- Valid teaching license in Ohio.
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in education or related field.
- Strong understanding of STEM education principles, including mastery learning, project‑based learning, and personalized learning approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and proactive approach to problem solving.
- Familiarity with Ohio education regulations and standards preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Must be able to report to work regularly and punctually.
- Perform all other related work as delegated to accomplish school's objectives.
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district and state.
- Collaborate with school administration to develop curriculum and programming while integrating STEM/Robotics principles and industry‑specific focus areas.
- Co‑lead recruitment efforts for incoming students, conducting informational sessions, and liaising with parents to provide guidance on STEM/Robotics education benefits.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local stakeholders.
- Participate in all aspects of curriculum development and instruction.
- Promote hands‑on, active, cooperative, and project‑based learning throughout classes and community.
- Foster a culture that values learning, community engagement, and respect.
- Create and use multiple sources of data to develop a plan for improving student achievement.
- Develop systems and planning tools to track instruction and measure student progress; define and track student goals.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests in accordance with established procedures.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintaining discipline and providing appropriate feedback.
- Encourage and monitor progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
- Update all necessary records as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities.
- Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepare classroom for class activities.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for educational activities.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
