Substitute Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Substitute Teacher to join our educational institution. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for maintaining an engaging and productive classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher. Your primary duty will be to ensure the continuation of learning by following lesson plans and providing effective instruction to students.
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (preferred)
Teaching certification/license or substitute license
High School Diploma
Strong classroom management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and student needs
Patience, flexibility, and resilience in handling various classroom situations
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in using educational technology and tools
Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
At-will, no contract until 60 days experience in same position
$125 per day until 60 day hire (in same assignment) by Board of Education
Building Principal, Director of Personnel, Superintendent
Implementing lesson plans:
Execute prepared lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the absent teacher, ensuring the continuation of educational activities and meeting curriculum objectives.
Classroom management:
Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment, promoting learning, respect, and discipline.
Student supervision:
Oversee and monitor students' behavior, ensuring their safety and well-being during instructional time, breaks, and transitions.
Instructional delivery:
Deliver lessons effectively, utilizing appropriate teaching strategies and resources to engage students and facilitate their understanding of the subject matter.
Adaptation and flexibility:
Adjust teaching methods and materials to accommodate individual student needs and varying levels of comprehension.
Communication:
Communicate with the regular teacher and school staff to report any classroom incidents, student progress, or concerns regarding the curriculum or materials.
Classroom organization:
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including arranging desks, displaying necessary teaching aids, and keeping instructional materials readily accessible.
Attendance and records:
Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, and assignments completed by students, and submit necessary reports as required by the school.
Professional development:
Stay updated with educational practices, attend relevant workshops or training sessions, and strive for professional growth in teaching methodologies.
