Salary Range: $36.00 to $38.00 Hourly

To provide instruction, be accessible as assigned for student conferences—immediately prior to or following class sessions—or by appointment, and maintain accurate student academic and attendance records—under the direction of the department dean or representative.

Respond to student, college employee, and customer inquiries in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality and privacy.

Teach approved courses using applied learning methods in accordance with course objectives, syllabi, schedules, and program requirements. Instruct in various learning environments, on and off campus, including web-based, high school, and other sites.

Demonstrate expertise in the discipline and enthusiasm in teaching to motivate students. Manage the classroom, prepare and update course syllabi, materials, and web-based courses.

Work with faculty and administration to follow instructional procedures. Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and academic performance.

Operate laboratory equipment and enforce safety practices.

Attend organizational, orientation, or training meetings and department meetings as required.

Master’s degree in Chemistry or related physical/natural science field required; or a master’s degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Chemistry.

Higher education teaching experience preferred.

Excellent English communication and writing skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and strong computer skills.

Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal direction.

Willingness to work an irregular schedule as assigned.

Must successfully pass a background check before and after employment. Valid driver’s license or dependable transportation required.

This position is classified as Faculty and will teach in a wide range of educational venues to provide quality instruction to a diverse student population for the college, primarily in a classroom or office setting.
