The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This Role In SummaryTo be successful in this role, you will work with our design engineers and Vendors around the world to lock in a design that meets the needs of the design intent and also meet the needs of the manufacturing plant with regard to standards, expected uptime, etc. Some travel will be required.
Your Responsibilities Will Include- Leading projects to specify/purchase/modify fabrication and/or Stamping Equipment in support of major program launches
- Leading changes to existing equipment to support cost and quality initiatives
- Communicating project updates to all levels of the organization
- Leading vendors to provide a design that transforms print tolerances into a repeatable/robust machine
- Maintaining/updating/ submitting project documentation for each new project. e.g. FMEA, NP stores load sheets, purchased component listing etc
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical or a similar discipline
- 3+ years in a similar function
- Background in specifying and leading the implementation of new equipment
- Experience using 3d and or 2d software e.g. Solid Works, ProE, Acad, etc
