Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safety: Lead by example, ensure all required PPE is worn at all times.
  • Start Up: Ensure schedules are ready for all line leads and distributed to each line on what they will be starting on. Know the status of each line at all times.
  • Ensure all line leads are present and on time.
  • Conduct meetings with leads to discuss areas requiring improvement and other production topics. Provide line escalation as needed.
  • New hires: Onboard new hires correctly, assign them to the right mentor, and monitor their progress throughout the shift.
  • Production boards: Verify that leads keep boards updated and address discrepancies promptly.
  • Remakes: Ensure remakes are prioritized and moved through the line. Investigate and resolve delays with the lead.
  • Fall Outs: Leads must maintain complete carts in their area. Verify carts are complete and labeled correctly throughout the shift.
  • Downtime: Proactively manage downtime, keep people engaged with cleaning or other tasks, and plan activities for lunch/break periods.
  • Production / Throughput: Drive production to meet goals as an area lead. Diagnose performance issues, determine corrective actions, and help lines reach MPO targets.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and never cut corners.
  • Hold lines accountable for producing high quality work and adhering to CTQ guidelines.
  • Make independent decisions when a supervisor is not present.
  • Operate all equipment on the production floor of the area lead.
  • Communicate clearly with peers and subordinates on daily business topics.
  • Maintain excellent attendance; failure may result in demotion.
  • Provide hourly updates to communication boards regarding line status.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and convey them to leads above you.
  • Read and interpret the schedule and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Work overtime and weekends as required to meet production needs.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and collaborate with employees you oversee.
  • Learn the PC system and perform end‑of‑shift pass‑down when a supervisor is absent.
  • Step into a lead role to run the line if a lead is absent.
Qualifications
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organization and time‑management skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of working in a fast‑paced, people‑oriented environment.
  • Understand technical concepts.
  • Read and use a tape measure.
  • Proficient PC skills.
  • Quality Assurance background desired.
  • Basic understanding of the 5‑Why process for troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions desired.
