Industrial Maintenance Technician II 2nd Shift

Full-time, Permanent Position Type, 2nd Shift (Mon-Fri 2:30 PM-11:30 PM).

Job Details

Base Pay Rate: $29.50–$33.50 per hour plus $1 per hour shift differential.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure, minimizing production time losses.
  • Inform the Maintenance Supervisor when supplies are removed from stock and require replenishment, and provide ordering information.
  • Develop and review standard operating procedures for maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure all maintenance work areas are clean and safe.
  • Comply with quality and environmental management system principles.
  • Understand basic concepts of electricity, voltage, current, and resistance.
  • Operate a volt‑ohm‑millimeter (VOM) and non‑contact voltage testers to test energized circuits.
  • Understand mechanical fastener types, application, and installation procedures; select and install various fasteners.
  • Handle, dispense, and apply lubricants; know lubricant properties, storage, handling, and charts.
  • Apply basic machine shop skills and safety practices.
  • Participate in TPM initiatives.
  • Understand hydraulic and pneumatic valve configuration, operation, and components.
  • Weld, braze, solder, and cut metal; prepare for arc welding jobs.
  • Use block and tackle, chain hoists, slings, levelers, come‑along, jacks, and winches to lift or move equipment.
  • Inspect heavy‑lifting hardware and cranes, assisting in heavy‑lifting jobs.
  • Inspect, assemble, and disassemble scaffolding.
  • Operate basic lifting equipment properly.
  • Understand basic blueprint components, scales, symbols, and dimensions.
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years maintenance experience; working toward or holding an associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Training in LOTO, electrical/mechanical safe work practices, ladder safety, CPR, respiratory protection, incipient fire response, confined space entry, fall protection, enclosed space entry, aerial lifts, and PIT.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Strong communication and time‑management skills.
  • Some heavy lifting required to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc., at low frequency.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lb continuously above shoulder height and below the waist.
  • Occasional squatting, crawling, reaching above shoulders, kneeling, and balancing.
  • Repetitive actions such as steady grasping, fine manipulation with both hands.
  • Experience working with various chemicals.
  • Experience working from scaffolding, ladders, and platforms.
  • Experience working in confined space conditions.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Handling hazardous waste with appropriate PPE.
  • Working near energized electric circuits.
  • Working near hot equipment and/or materials.
