The Cultivation Technician plays a vital role in the growth and maintenance of plants within our facility. This is an entry level position that involves a basic understanding of greenhouse operations and the ability to perform production tasks in hot or humid conditions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plant care and an eagerness to contribute to a dynamic team dedicated to quality cultivation practices.

Duties

Assist in the daily care and maintenance of plants, ensuring optimal growth conditions.

  • Perform heavy lifting tasks related to planting, transferring, and maintaining crops.
  • Utilize tools for various cultivation tasks, including planting, pruning, and harvesting.
  • Work as a team to meet production goals.
  • Practice good communication skills with co-workers and management.
  • Conduct regular inspections of plants for signs of pests or disease and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the greenhouse environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop effective cultivation strategies.
  • Record data related to plant growth, health, and inventory tracking using basic math skills for accurate measurements.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in greenhouse operations or cultivation is a plus, but not required.
  • Willing to work longer hours when needed, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) safely and effectively.
  • Ability to perform tasks walking, bending, reaching, standing, sitting, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating growth metrics.
  • A passion for horticulture and willingness to learn new techniques in plant care.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass Federal background check
  • Must be willing and able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
