Industrial Maintenance Technician II 2nd Shift

Full-time | Position Type:
Permanent | Shift: 2nd Shift (Mon‑Fri 2:30 PM‑11:30 PM)

Job Details

Base Pay Rate: $29.50–$33.50 per hour plus $1 per hour shift differential

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely perform emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure, minimizing production time losses associated with breakdown or failure of equipment.
  • Notify the Maintenance Supervisor when supplies have been removed from stock and require replenishment; provide ordering information for replenishment.
  • Develop and review standard operating procedures to govern maintenance activities performed by personnel.
  • Maintain clean and safe maintenance work areas, including those where repairs are performed.
  • Understand and comply with the fundamental principles of the quality and environmental management system in place.
  • Understand basic concepts of electricity (voltage, current, resistance) and operate a volt‑ohm‑millimeter (VOM) and non‑contact voltage testers to test for energized circuits.
  • Recognize mechanical fastener types, application, and installation procedures; select and install various fasteners.
  • Dispense and apply lubricants; understand types, properties, storage, handling, and application of basic lubricants and lubricant charts.
  • Apply basic machine shop skills and maintain machine safety.
  • Participate in TPM initiatives.
  • Understand hydraulic and pneumatic valve configuration, operation, and components.
  • Perform welding, brazing, soldering, and cutting of metal.
  • Prepare for arc welding jobs.
  • Use block and tackle, chain hoists, slings, levelers, come‑alongs, jacks, and winches to lift or move equipment.
  • Inspect heavy‑lifting hardware and cranes; assist in heavy‑lifting operations.
  • Inspect, assemble, and disassemble scaffolding; use basic lifting equipment properly.
  • Understand basic blueprint components, including scales, symbols, and dimensions.
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of maintenance experience; working toward or holding an Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Training in LOTO, electrical/mechanical safe‑work practices, ladder safety, CPR, respiratory protection, fire response, confined‑space entry, fall protection, enclosed‑space entry, aerial lifts, pit safety.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Strong communication and time‑management skills.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lb) routinely and to lift small components as required.
  • Experience working at heights, on scaffolds, ladders, and platforms.
  • Familiarity with operating in confined spaces and handling hazardous chemicals and waste.
  • Ability to work safely near energized electrical circuits and hot equipment or materials.
