Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday - Friday
Crittenden Community Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate RN to join our Specialty Clinic team. This full-time position supports multiple specialties, including cardiology and surgery, with the potential to assist other specialties as needed. The Specialty Clinic Nurse plays a vital role in providing patient-centered care through direct patient interactions, clinical support, coordination of care, and ensuring timely completion of diagnostic testing.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient rooming, including vital signs, medical history collection, and medication reconciliation.
- Accurately take off and process provider orders in accordance with hospital and regulatory policies.
- Handle prescription refills, prior authorizations, and coordinate medication requests with pharmacies.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of diagnostic testing, making sure results are received, reviewed, and ready for the provider prior to patient appointments.
- Provide patient education related to procedures, medication instructions, and follow-up care.
- Assist providers during in-clinic procedures and examinations as needed.
- Perform telephone triage, responding to patient inquiries and coordinating care with providers.
- Ensure proper documentation of all patient interactions, treatments, and test results in the EMR system.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment and ensure adequate stock of medical supplies.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, patient privacy standards, and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Education & Licensure
- Current and valid RN license in the state of Kentucky.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Experience
- Previous clinic or specialty care experience preferred but not required; training available.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
- Clinic Manager experience preferred.
- Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate care efficiently, ensuring tests and results are ready for appointments.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Team-oriented with a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software systems.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of patients or equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
- Bending, stooping, and reaching as needed during patient care activities.
- Collaborative work environment with supportive leadership.
