Field Service Technician NEEDED - Marion, Ohio Area

A Leading Manufacturing Company near Marion, Ohio needs a Field Service Technician. Previous Maintenance Experience is a Must. Ability to travel to customer sites is required for this Position. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive compensation, bonus potential, good benefits, paid holidays, paid vacation, and per diem.

Responsibilities
  • Installation, assembly, and disassembly of machines accurately and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
  • Make suggestions in making modifications to machines accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform electrical upgrade of existing machines.
  • Clean parts and adjacent parts that are being repaired.
  • Provides excellent customer service, handling inquiries professionally and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Conduct organized pre-and-post meetings with detailed meeting notes.
  • Updates and maintains maintenance logs for Field Service and Sales departments.
  • Prepares and coordinates projects, including scheduling and ensuring all necessary parts and tools are ready.
  • Submits detailed expense and business trip reports promptly, within 2 days from return day.
  • Sending, receiving, and analyzing customer interview sheets and performs thorough and accurate preventative maintenance on machines, and makes preventative maintenance reports within 2 weeks of returning.
  • Ensuring that necessary parts and tools are ready prior to the project, travel arrangements are made, and the field service report is prepared.
  • Obtains approval from the Field Service Supervisor for all purchases.
  • Creates and modifies documents using Microsoft Office.
  • Handles customer inquiries and files correspondence records in the project folder.
  • Must have precise measurement figures while working on a project.
  • Completes given projects accurately and thoroughly.
  • Accurately pulls and highlighting assembly and parts drawings, (mark as quoted, or may need to replace).
  • Checks tools prior to leaving customer site to ensure all tools are accounted for and organize tools prior to arriving back at the shop.
  • Checks email while away from the shop.
  • Fabricating and shaping parts using manual machines and proper materials as per drawings.
  • Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet precise tolerance requirements.
  • Setting up and operating manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drills accurately and efficiently.
  • Select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Holding very close tolerances and fine finishes as per blueprint specifications.
  • Refers to machine drawings when working at the shop, at the job site, or talking to customers at all times and report to the supervisor.
  • Assists in training new field service and machine shop members.
Requirements
  • Fosters an environment of creativity to encourage new techniques and technology in the machine shop and field service areas.
  • Submits Field Service Reports within 2 days of return and business trip reports daily, including working hours, detailed measurements, and progress with digital pictures.
  • Reports to Office Staff and Field Service Staff the hotel name, phone number, and room number for emergency purposes upon arrival.
  • Follows up with customers post-service and documents results. Follows established tool procedures and maintains lock-out/tag-out protocols.
  • Delivers or picks up merchandise to and from customers or vendors as required.
  • Develop new vendors and maintain customer relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, management, and co-workers.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety and environmental policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Cleans parts and adjacent areas that are being repaired.
  • Use of forklift within the facility. Obtains (re) certification through Annual Safety Training.
  • Supports the collaborative team environment by partnering with other staff members through workflow, partnership and teamwork to support company needs and/or events.
  • Must be able to work with and manage a team made up of people from different backgrounds and motivations. Ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Maintains safety and security of all work areas, both on and off site complying with all company safety and environmental policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Understands that the needs of our customers are of the highest priority, to treat the customer with respect, and to communicate effectively.
  • Does not disclose any parts drawings and confidential information to anyone outside of the Company.
  • Maintains high standards of professionalism, dress & behavior. Maintains cleanliness & organization of the facility.
  • Use time effectively and efficiently. Carries out job effectively and efficiently. Clocks in and out every day.
