The staff Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner serves as the leader of a Treatment Team, provides direct medical and psychiatric care for patients assigned to the Treatment Team, consults with colleagues, and participates in the Medical Professional Staff organization.

• Education:
  
  Master’s prepared graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program; eligibility for or licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse and as a Nurse Practitioner, with authorization to prescribe required medications.
• Certification:
  Current BLS or ACLS certification.
• Licensure:
  Possession of a license that authorizes prescribing.

• Work experience with inpatient psychiatric populations preferred.
• Board Certification as an Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through ANCC preferred.
