Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
The staff Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner serves as the leader of a Treatment Team, provides direct medical and psychiatric care for patients assigned to the Treatment Team, and provides consultation to colleagues, as well as participating in the Medical Professional Staff organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
Master's prepared graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program. Eligibility for or licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse, and as a Nurse Practitioner and possession of a license with the authorization to prescribe required. - Certification:
Either current BLS or ACLS certification is required. - Licensure:
Possession of a license with the authorization to prescribe required.
Additional Considerations
- Work experience with inpatient psychiatric populations is preferred.
- Board Certification as an Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through ANCC preferred.
