Job Duties

Part-time/Wage Registered Nurse II (RNII) nurses assist with providing adequate levels of staff "as needed" on a part-time basis during periods of high acuity, staff vacancies, or other coverage needs. Part-time/Wage (P-14) RNIIs are experienced nurses with specialized psychiatric care nursing training and assist individuals served with mental health recovery. P-14 RNIIs may perform admission assessments and other comprehensive assessments or evaluations as part of the nursing process.

P-14 RNIIs may participate in treatment planning and discharges in addition to medication administration and related duties, provision of physical or medical treatments, take admission calls, assist with unit routines, and other duties. P-14 RNIIs may serve as charge nurse and supervise subordinate staff performance during a shift but are not direct supervisors for the performance cycle of other employees.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or applicant status

Additional Considerations

• Strongly prefer supervisory experience with knowledge of performance management and evaluation processes.
• Strongly prefer experience working with individuals with mental illness, forensic, geriatric, and/or substance abuse issues.
• Prefer experience and competency in Charge Nurse role.
• Computer skills required, including use of electronic health record, are needed.
