Position Description
Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver. Join us at Ryder in Marion, VA.
Pay: $1650 per week. Additional pay details:
- Solo Miles Pay: $0.55 per mile with miles per week
- Solo Stops Pay: $19.05 per stop with 3-7 stops per week
- Nights out: 3-4 times per week
- Safety Bonus: $500 four times a year
- Sign On Bonus: $1500 at 30 days and $1500 at 90 days

Sunday - Friday - Start Time: AM Dispatch
Driving routes include SOLO destinations to MI, WI, KS, PA, NJ, NY, SC, NC, OH, FL, IN, KY, TN, and GA. Tractor type:
Sleeper; trailer type: 53' Dry Van, Curtainside. Freight:
Touch – Molding and Building Products.
Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fuel at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide.

Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Pass Ryder drug test.
- Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
- Pass DOT physical.
- Pass Ryder road test.
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements.
- Class A experience: 9 months within last 3 years or 2 years within last 5 years or 5 years within last 10 years.
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check; a road test; and/or badge or background requirements of the customer.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
- Loading/unloading freight or assisting as required by customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
