Economic Development Manager Position

Reporting to the Director of Economic Growth, Culture and Entrepreneurship, this leadership role is crucial in executing the City’s Economic Development and Culture Strategy. You'll operationalize programs, promote Markham as a business destination, and engage with various stakeholders to support retention and expansion. This is a hands-on opportunity that allows you to connect with the growing community and elevate its economic landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operationalize development programs aligned with corporate goals

• Direct investment growth opportunities for local economic development

• Manage strategic relationships with business and academic communities

• Promote Markham's global brand and market initiatives

• Direct foreign direct investment initiatives and missions

Requirements:

• University degree with 3+ years in a leadership role

• 7–10 years in economic development or business planning

• Certification in economic development (EcD or CEcD)

• Valid driver's license and clean abstract

• Strong analytical and leadership skills
