Position SummaryThe Category & Shopper Strategy Analyst is an essential contributor to advancing Category Leadership initiatives through data analytics and retail strategy. This position is responsible for creating impactful data stories and visualizations that will support key business objectives. As a valued team member, you will assist in translating analytics into actionable insights that inform strategic decisions. Collaborating closely with internal teams, you will support the creation of category narratives and materials that align with broader organizational goals.
The Category & Shopper Strategy Analyst is a trusted professional with expertise in analyzing large data sets, aiming to uncover category trends and shopper insights to deliver on Smucker’s growth ambition.
- Translate and synthesize sales trends into insights by mining various data sources like NielsenIQ POS and Panel data, to support category growth and initiatives.
- Collaborate with teams developing retailer specific stories by leveraging category insights and fact-based opportunities.
- Conduct on-demand analysis using diverse data platforms to support sales and cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to the development of sales presentations for customer meetings and internal learning materials.
- Develop reports and presentations to convey findings and provide strategic recommendations.
- Assist in crafting gold standards for Merchandising, Assortment, and Shelving within the category.
- 1+ years in Category Management experience desired University Degree/College Diploma or relevant experience
- Working knowledge in NielsenIQ Panel data and retail measurement services.
- Demonstrated ability to transform data into actionable insights.
- Understanding of storytelling principles and best practices.
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills, multitasking ability, and aptitude for presenting complex insights to internal teams effectively.
- Innovative and creative thinker, capable of generating fresh ideas and approaches.
- Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills.
- Proactive self‑starter with a drive for excellence.
- Outstanding communication skills combined with a self‑motivated approach.
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry is a valuable asset.
$68,000 - $98,000 annually. The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Compensation will be determined based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, skills, work experience, and internal equity considerations.
