Ballet & Contemporary Dance Teacher

Become a vital part of the York Dance Academy as a Ballet and Contemporary Dance Teacher. We are looking for passionate instructors specializing in various dance disciplines for our growing studio.

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, the York Dance Academy is expanding its team of dance teachers. This contracted position involves teaching both recreational and competitive classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and yoga. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance and relevant post-secondary education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and yoga classes

• Teach both recreational and competitive dancers

• Prepare students for performances and competitions

• Develop engaging lesson plans for diverse skill levels

• Communicate effectively with students and parents

Requirements:

• Experience in dance and teaching

• Post-secondary education from a recognized institution

• A vehicle for reliable transportation to our studio

• Availability to teach evenings and camps in summer

• Commitment to student success and development
