You will report to the Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting/Deputy Treasurer, focusing on municipal financial tasks like auditing and reporting. Key functions include implementing Public Sector Accounting Board standards, liaising with auditors, preparing financial documents, and supporting the budget process. Your analytical skills will be essential in assisting leaders across departments with financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate financial audits with external auditors

• Prepare and provide financial statements as required

• Implement Public Sector Accounting Board standards

• Provide guidance and training on financial policies

• Contribute to annual budgeting and workflow processes

Requirements:

• Chartered Professional Accountant designation needed

• At least five years of municipal accounting experience

• Knowledge of finance laws and regulations

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Proficient in MS Dynamics/Great Plains software
