Your Opportunity

Our GTA office is looking for a Senior Manager in the Canadian Tax practice. The successful candidate will own the following responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate client business processes and policies, advise on tax policy and change to meet market needs, and develop proactive tax strategies to make business opportunities effective.
  • Apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address tax issues relevant to the client’s business.
  • Provide both technical and project management leadership to team members for Domestic Tax projects or assignments, ensuring quality control standards.
  • Identify and develop strategies for clients to capitalize on business and tax opportunities, including preparing and reviewing tax reorganizations and reviewing corporate, trust and estate tax returns.
  • Build positive working relationships with clients and provide effective support for engagements.
  • Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team.
Success Metrics
  • Understand the industries BDO services and contribute to the group's advancement.
  • Ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development.
  • Recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to engagements.
  • Actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development, while identifying and attracting top talent.
  • Support the firm's revenue growth by referring clients to other service lines and new clients to BDO.
Qualifications
  • Completed CPA designation and either the In‑Depth Tax Program and/or Masters in Tax.
  • Seven years experience in public accounting with a specialization in Tax for a minimum of three years.
  • Extensive understanding of relevant tax legislation, corporate, personal and trust tax planning and compliance.
  • Value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.
  • Display strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Compensation

The expected range of compensation for this role is $125,000 - $175,000 annually.
