Senior Strategic Finance Manager - Markham, ON

Reports to:

PYXiS VP Finance (direct) and dotted‑line to Business Group Leader.

Compensation: $120,000 – $135,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week.

• Oversee accounting, financial planning and reporting for an assigned portfolio of operating companies, ensuring accurate, timely month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end financial reporting in accordance with IFRS.
• Conduct balance‑sheet reconciliations, monthly close processes, and analyze financial results to provide insight into performance drivers, risks and emerging trends.
• Support and challenge business leaders’ forecasts and plans through quarterly forecasting, variance analysis, and forward‑looking decision support.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate requirements and external audit requests.
• Partner with the Business Group Leader and senior leadership to support strategic decision‑making, capital allocation, M&A activity and capital structure optimization.
• Act as an objective thought partner to operating leaders, bringing a point of view, challenging assumptions and improving decision quality.
• Assess operational systems, processes and staffing models to identify inefficiencies, provide recommendations and design scalable, repeatable improvement processes.
• Lead initiatives to strengthen working capital management, cash discipline and overall financial rigor across the group of companies.
• Lead the financial integration of newly acquired businesses, support due diligence, purchase price accounting, post‑close setup and earn‑out calculations in accordance with IFRS.
• Coach, mentor and develop finance team members, building bench strength and fostering a culture of ethical behavior, accountability and high professional standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce or related field.
• CPA designation with strong commercial judgment and financial analysis capability.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS in complex or multi‑entity environments.
• Proven experience in a management‑level finance role within a complex business environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and develop finance professionals.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and performance management.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, data analysis and reconciliation.
• Ability to assess commercial risk and understand accounting implications of contractual terms.
• Preferred exposure to mergers and acquisitions, including post‑acquisition integration activities.
• Experience in the software or technology sector.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and/or Vena Solutions FP&A software.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Strong business judgement and ability to drive results with a pragmatic approach.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines in a fast‑paced high‑growth environment.
• Self‑motivated, high energy, with initiative to manage change and growth.
• Flexibility to accommodate various time zones and support a global company setting.
• Occasional travel as required.
