Gain hands-on experience in finance with Michipicoten First Nation as a full-time Finance Intern. This role emphasizes receivables management, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting compliance.
Reporting to the Finance Administrator, you will handle day-to-day receivable functions and ensure accurate financial transactions. This internship provides professional growth opportunities in Indigenous Financial Administration, offering a culturally grounded workplace. Ideal candidates are new entrants, transitioning professionals, or those unemployed, and must identify as Indigenous.
Key Responsibilities:
• Issue invoices to clients and partners
• Record all receipts in accounting software
• Generate monthly Aged Receivables Reports for management
• Update Housing Statements for the Housing Coordinator
• Assist during the annual audit process
Requirements:
• Identify as First Nation, Metis, or Inuit
• New entrants to the workforce preferred
• At least 18 years of age
• Post-secondary education in related fields
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
