Overview
Compensation: CA $70,000–CA $150,000 per year
Our personal injury and commercial litigation law firm is seeking a dedicated and motivated Associate with a minimum of two years of post-call experience in personal injury litigation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a dynamic team. Strong communication skills, tenacity, and intellectual curiosity are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities- Correspond with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance companies
- Draft pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and review and summarize medical records
- Attend case conferences, Examinations for Discovery, mediations, motions, hearings, and other proceedings as required
- Negotiate and settle files
- Maintain knowledge of and effectively apply the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS)
- Minimum two years of post-call litigation experience
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong legal research and analytical abilities
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
