Role Overview
This role serves as the primary service and maintenance contact for Trane Technologies customers in a defined market covering diverse commercial bases such as Healthcare, Process Manufacturing, Education Institutions, and Office Complexes. The technician commissions, troubleshoots, repairs, and starts up HVAC systems in commercial environments, applying knowledge of air conditioning theory, piping, and mechanical layouts.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with team leader/project manager and customer to understand installation and repair requirements, forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on‑site work.
- Serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems on site.
- Use cutting‑edge software, technology, and hand‑tools to diagnose and repair units following blueprints or engineering specifications.
- Maintain flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays as business requires.
- Enforce safety standards, maintain security and accountability of company assets, and record usage and conditions.
- Minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience; good standing as member of UA Local 787.
- Technical school or formal HVAC training preferred.
- Red Seal in HVAC (313A);
Gas 1 ticket required. - Valid driver’s license with minimum 12 months history and no major traffic violations in the past 3 years.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a handheld computer (Smartphone or iPad).
- Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Wear safety gear: helmet, goggles, harness, boots, seat belt, etc., as required.
Hourly base pay: $65.06. Compensation details depend on seniority, merit, location, education, experience, travel, and union designation. Additional benefits and programs are available as part of Trane Technologies' comprehensive offerings.
