Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment.
Ensure optimal operation of mechanical systems through inspections, monitoring, and adjustments.
Identify and correct safety-related issues and conduct independent equipment evaluations.
Operate, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHUs, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, and other mechanical equipment.
Use building automation system to track building conditions and equipment operation.
Recharge refrigerant levels, check for leaks, and ensure correct operation of refrigerant cycles.
Perform maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems per CMMS schedule.
Respond to and provide service and feedback on all work orders, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Follow safety guidelines including job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and PPE use.
Operate measurement, diagnostic, and testing instruments for energy efficiency solutions.
Maintain a strict schedule and complete assigned duties.
Work in a team environment with respectful and professional conduct.
Prioritize tasks, manage workload, and resolve issues independently.
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and execute communications via phone.
Document accurately in electronic and paper cataloging systems.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
Five years experience as HVAC/R maintenance technician in industrial and/or commercial environments or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EPA Universal Refrigeration License or ODP Card (Canada) or HVAC System Mechanic 313A license or minimum Gas Tech G1 certification.
Ability to work in aerial lift or scissor lift up to 30 feet or higher.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Pass medical evaluation for respirator use and fit test for multiple respirator types.
Obtain security access badge at client site.
Read and understand technical documents, schematics, and repair manuals.
Fluency in computer use, including full Microsoft product line.
Valid driver’s license as required.
No sponsorship for U.S. work authorization.
Preferred Requirements Technical degree.
Experience in GMP or regulated environments (hospitals, biomedical, pharmaceutical).
Knowledge of steam systems, centrifugal chillers, air handling units, turbines, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, air dryers, heat exchangers, exhaust systems, pneumatic controls, building automation control systems.
Experience with vibration data collection, ultrasound testing for predictive maintenance.
Experience with CMMS;
Maximo is a plus.
Ability to interpret written, oral, schematic, or schedule instructions.
Physical Requirements Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding.
Perform repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement.
Walk extensively during shift.
Work at accelerated pace during emergencies.
Differentiate wire color codes.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other PPE as needed.
Cope with work-related stressors.
Use office equipment and computer keyboard for data access and document preparation.
Other Attributes Willing to work overtime when required.
May be required to work holidays and weekends.
Compensation Details CAD 44.00 - CAD 46.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, equity, market data, collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
