Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer
Maintenance Technician – Under the direction of the Manager, Maintenance, you will provide maintenance support for equipment, utilities, systems and facilities to enhance productivity, quality and safety.
Responsibilities- Perform or assist with set‑up, change‑over, preventative maintenance, installation, modification, troubleshooting, maintenance and/or repair of site equipment, utilities, systems and facilities in accordance with established SOPs, GMP guidelines and EH&S policies.
- Identify, recommend, and implement approved improvements to line procedures, equipment, utilities, systems and facilities to enhance productivity, quality or safety. Fabricate parts and operate mills and lathes.
- Perform safe operational checks on equipment and systems, detect and investigate performance variances, and identify concerns as required. Maintain knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Identify OEM or spare parts by consulting machine manuals. Communicate with supervisor before initiating a purchase request, create a work order in SAP, and follow TEVA purchasing guidelines.
- Execute qualification and/or validation protocols for installation, commissioning and/or operation of equipment, utilities, systems and facilities. Complete required compliance documentation, log books, timesheets and related records.
- Maintain current training and awareness of related legislated codes, EH&S procedures, SOPs and GMP requirements. Complete ongoing training to respond to technology changes and maintain licenses/certificates.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
Preferred:
Technician or technology diploma. - Three (3) or more years of relevant experience.
- Ontario accreditation/certification:
Mechanical (Millwright) license is required;
Electrical license (Industrial or Construction & Maintenance Electrician) is an asset;
Calibration (Electro‑Mechanical, Instrument, Electronics) is an asset; HVAC Technician is an asset. - Proficiency in the use of tools, equipment, and measuring/calibration/diagnostic devices.
- Knowledge of BAS systems, SAP, PLC, e‑mail, Windows, cGMP, and WHMIS.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or another GMP environment is preferred.
The typical hiring range for this position is $70,480–$88,100 annual salary, which may vary based on experience, skills and internal equity. In addition to base salary, the role may qualify for an annual bonus and, for certain positions, a sales commission structure.
