Position: Maintenance Assistant at City
Contribute to facility upkeep as a Maintenance Assistant in the Sustainability and Asset Management Department at City of Markham. Engage in diverse maintenance tasks, from plumbing to electrical duties.

The City of Markham is hiring a Maintenance Assistant who will oversee general repairs, maintenance, and replacements across city facilities. The role involves working with heavy equipment, coordinating resources, and liaising with contractors. Successful candidates will have a strong background in plumbing, electrical duties, and mechanical repairs along with experience in HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform facility maintenance including carpentry and plumbing

• Operate heavy equipment and power tools

• Set schedules and project plans independently

• Coordinate contractor resources and materials

• Conduct regular inspections of city facilities

Requirements:

• College diploma or trade certification in a related field

• 3-5 years of relevant experience

• Proficient in specialized plumbing and electrical tasks

• Valid class ‘G’ Ontario driver’s license

• Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR C is an asset
