Market Research Analyst

VDC Strategy is the leading consulting firm focused on insights and growth strategy for operational and industrial technology companies and a trusted partner for private equity firms that invest in them. We are looking for Market Research Analysts to join our team in Southborough, MA. In this role, you will work on a combination of consulting and research engagements-including M&A, market expansion, product strategy, and market analysis-alongside a team of talented analysts and consultants.

• Conduct in-depth interviews with technology suppliers, end users, channel partners, and industry experts
• Design and develop research tools including surveys, interview guides, data collection templates, forecasting models, and benchmarking frameworks
• Build market forecasts, competitive assessments, supplier/vendor profiles, and strategic analysis reports
• Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, generate insights, and develop strategic recommendations
• Support or lead commercial due diligence, market opportunity assessments, growth strategy, and product strategy engagements
• Translate research findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technology companies, investors, and private equity firms
• Create thought leadership including blogs, whitepapers, webinars, and industry presentations
• Represent VDC at client meetings, conferences, webinars, and industry events

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required; MBA or MS preferred.
• Experience in market research, strategy consulting, competitive intelligence, business analytics, industry analysis, equity research, or related analytical fields.
• We are hiring across multiple experience levels, from early-career professionals through experienced consultants.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience developing forecasts, competitive analyses, market models, or strategic recommendations is highly valued.
• Adept at identifying, evaluating, and utilizing AI tools to improve research and consulting workflows.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with statistical analysis, data visualization, or business intelligence tools is a plus.
• Interest in technology markets.
• Willingness to travel for client engagements and industry events.
