Latin Teacher

The Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Middle and High School Latin Teacher for the  school year. The Advanced Math and Science Academy (AMSA), located in Marlborough, is a demanding college preparatory charter school for 6th through 12th grade.

Job Responsibilities:

* Teach middle school Latin and high school Latin courses, as needed.

* Work collaboratively with the department chair and other staff to implement curriculum and course materials aligned to educational standards and student needs.

* Create a positive, inclusive and interactive learning environment that encourages student engagement and active participation.

* Focus on increasing academic achievement, content knowledge, and character growth for all students.

* Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues to support student success.

* Contribute to a strong and supportive professional learning community.

* Work with administration to uphold and support all school policies and procedures.

* Complete other responsibilities, as assigned, in helping to maintain a safe and orderly school environment, (i.e. traffic and/or lunch duties.)

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Classics or relevant academic field is required;
Master's degree is a plus.

* Passing MTEL score in Latin and Classical Humanities, 5-12, by June 30, 2027.

* Prior teaching and Special Education experience are preferred.

* Strong commitment to the Advanced Math and Science Academy's mission, values, and educational model.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.

* Participate in our all-school summer professional development prior to the start of the school year that begins on August 19, 2026.

* Current authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
