Job DescriptionAssabet Technical Institute seeks a motivated and experienced Chapter 74 Electrical Teacher to support the expansion of its new Dual Enrollment Electrical Program and established Evening Electrical Program. This full‑time position offers the opportunity to work with both high school dual enrollment students and adult learners in a rigorous, hands‑on electrical training environment that aligns with Massachusetts licensure requirements and workforce needs.
The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality instruction in electrical code, theory, and hands‑on applications, preparing students for success in the electrical trade and future Journeyman licensure pathways.
- Deliver engaging classroom and hands‑on instruction aligned with Massachusetts Chapter 74 Electrical frameworks.
- Teach Electrical Code & Theory and hands‑on electrical lab instruction to both dual enrollment high school and adult evening students.
- Prepare students for advancement toward Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician licensure requirements.
- Develop lesson plans, practical projects, assessments, and industry‑aligned instructional materials.
- Integrate workplace readiness, safety, professionalism, and technical skills into instruction.
- Support the implementation and growth of ATI’s new Dual Enrollment Electrical initiative in partnership with local high schools.
- Collaborate with sending school administrators, counselors, and families to support student achievement and career exploration.
- Monitor student attendance, progress, competencies, and safety compliance.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and industry‑standard electrical lab environment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Massachusetts electrical code standards, and school safety policies.
- Oversee equipment, tools, inventory, and instructional materials.
- Promote and enforce safe work habits and practices at all times.
- Mentor students pursuing careers in the electrical and construction trades.
- Assist with resume development, interview preparation, apprenticeship readiness, and employment opportunities.
- Develop relationships with local contractors, unions, apprenticeship programs, and industry partners.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with industry standards.
- Collaborate with ATI administration and instructional staff to support enrollment, retention, and student engagement.
- Assist with recruitment events, open houses, career awareness programs, and community outreach initiatives.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and competency records.
- Participate in required meetings, professional development, and school activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Community Education or ATI Coordinator.
- Qualifications
- Massachusetts DESE Chapter 74 Electrical Teacher License required or ability to obtain licensure.
- Valid Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Electrician License required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent industry experience in the electrical field.
- Strong instructional, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both high school and adult learners.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching or workforce training experience in vocational, technical, post‑secondary, or adult education settings.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with competency‑based instruction and career readiness programming.
- OSHA‑10 Instructor Certification or related industry credentials preferred.
- Work Schedule
- Combination of daytime dual enrollment instruction and evening adult education programming.
- Monday‑Thursday 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm instruction.
- Friday – 3 hours professional responsibilities.
- Schedule aligns with ATI programming calendar and dual enrollment partnerships.
