Summer Aviation & STEM Program Instructor
Kids in Tech (KiT) seeks enthusiastic and dependable STEM Program Instructors to deliver hands-on aviation and engineering programming through the Bose Summer Aviation Program at Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro West. STEM Program Instructors are responsible for facilitating engaging STEM learning experiences for youth ages 8–14, supporting positive youth development, and ensuring safe, inclusive, and high-quality program delivery.
This position is ideal for individuals interested in STEM education, aviation, engineering, youth development, or related fields. Instructors serve as positive role models while helping students build confidence, problem-solving skills, and awareness of STEM career pathways.
Kids in Tech is partnering with Bose Corporation and Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro West to provide hands-on aviation and STEM learning experiences for youth ages 8–14. Through engineering challenges, aviation exploration, and career-connected learning, students will discover how technology and innovation shape the future of flight.
Program
Schedule:
Four (4) full-day aviation-focused STEM program days during Summer 2026. Additional paid training and preparation time may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Delivery:
Facilitate hands-on aviation and STEM activities for youth participants. Deliver curriculum and instructional content provided by Kids in Tech. Lead both large-group and small-group learning experiences. Support students in developing critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Foster an inclusive and welcoming learning environment for all participants. - Classroom and Student Management:
Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment. Monitor student behavior and implement positive youth development practices. Encourage student participation and support diverse learning needs. Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for Kids in Tech. - Program Operations:
Prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials and supplies. Set up and break down classrooms, equipment, and activity stations. Assist with attendance tracking and program documentation. Collect and enter program data as directed by supervisors. Follow all Kids in Tech and host-site policies and procedures. - Partnership and Community Engagement:
Collaborate with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro West staff and Kids in Tech team members. Support special program activities, field trips, demonstrations, and career exploration opportunities. Represent Kids in Tech and program partners professionally at all times.
Qualifications:
- Required Qualifications:
Minimum age of 16 years old. Authorized to work in the United States. High school student, high school graduate, GED recipient, or currently enrolled in college. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Interest in STEM education, technology, engineering, aviation, or related fields. Ability to work effectively with youth from diverse backgrounds. Ability to maintain professionalism and reliability. Ability to attend all required program dates, trainings, and meetings.
Successful completion of required pre-employment screenings, including CORI/SORI background checks and drug screening. - Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children or youth in educational, camp, mentoring, or community settings. Background or interest in aviation, aerospace, engineering, robotics, coding, or related STEM fields. Experience facilitating group activities or instruction. Bilingual or multilingual language skills. Reliable transportation to program locations.

- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to engage youth through hands-on learning. Ability to adapt instruction based on student needs. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and positive youth development.
Physical Requirements:
