Title: METAS/Accelerated Learning Academy Teachers (Evening) – Marlborough High School
Location: Hildreth School – Marlborough High School METAS and ALA (Accelerated Learning Academy)
School Year:
Dates: August 2026 – January 2027 (First Semester);
January 2027 – June 2027 (Second Semester)
Schedule: Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, and every other Wednesday evening, 60‑minute instructional periods between 4:40 and 9:00 pm. Up to four sections per content area per semester. Includes planning and program meetings.
Job Sharing: Eligible; possibilities include a 50/50 split or alternate scheduling. Include teaching partner and proposed schedule in your cover letter.
Organizational Relationship: Supervises under the Principal of Marlborough High School, the Director of Alternative Education, and the site administrator.
Compensation: $70.00 per hour for instructional hours. Includes time for instruction, preparation, grading, communication, collaboration, and material set‑up. Extra time outside scheduled instruction is not eligible for payment. Rate prorated for sessions less than one hour.
Statement of Duties- Develop, implement, and monitor goals and objectives for students.
- Assist in assessment of students considered for Alternate Pathway to Graduation.
- Work collaboratively with current strategies and pedagogy.
- Provide a positive structured environment addressing Mathematics, Science, History, ELD, or ELA standards as appropriate.
- Maintain a positive learning environment for all students in the program.
- Communicate regularly with parents to develop strong home/school partnership.
- Participate in ongoing planning, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.
- Carry out daily classroom responsibilities in person.
- Attend program and standard monthly meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- SEI endorsement required.
- Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education for the appropriate special position.
- Bachelor’s or higher academic degree.
- Demonstrated ability to work with all learners.
- Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) a plus.
- Other qualification alternatives acceptable as determined by the Superintendent of Schools.
