Special Education Teacher

Job Description

We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to join Glenhaven Academy, a residential treatment setting for adolescents that specializes in trauma‑informed care. The role involves creating and implementing structured lesson plans, building therapeutic rapport, and supporting students’ academic and life skills development.

• Create and implement structured lesson plans.
• Build therapeutic rapport with students.
• Collaborate with the Special Education team to provide academic services.
• Attend meetings with families, collaterals, and other teams to address students’ academic needs.
• Help students develop life skills and a sense of self for future success.

• $52,000 to $94,000 per year.
• $2,000 bilingual bonus for speaking a second language other than English.
• Reimbursement for professional license fees such as LMHC, LCSW, LICSW, RN, and others.

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must be licensed or be eligible to be waived by the Massachusetts DESE for Special Education Moderate Disabilities 5-12 and/or Secondary Education licensure.
• Relevant experience with grades 5-12 preferred.
• Maintains a valid driver’s license (transporting students is required).
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.
• Ability to provide physical interventions and verbal de‑escalation techniques.
