Job Summary

Promote learning and growth of all students by providing high-quality instruction, authentic assessments, and data-driven instruction. Maintain a safe, culturally proficient learning environment and partner with families, caregivers, and community members to support student success.

Responsibilities
  • Engage students in enrichment experiences that build complex knowledge and skills and offer differentiated learning environments supporting all students.
  • Develop well-structured lessons, units, and projects that incorporate strategies for language, cognition, memory, organization, sensory, perceptual‑motor, and social communication skills for preschool students with and without disabilities in an inclusive classroom.
  • Provide direct special education services aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans, collaborating with other providers to modify curriculum as needed.
  • Design and administer informal and formal assessments—including standardized academic, behavioral, and interim assessments—to measure student learning and progress.
  • Analyze assessment data to inform instruction, identify differentiated interventions, and enhance instruction for students with disabilities and English learners.
  • Develop and implement IEP goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with timelines and maintaining accurate, confidential records.
  • Provide descriptive feedback based on assessment results and engage students and families in constructive conversations to improve learning outcomes.
  • Communicate high academic and behavioral expectations using positive behavior supports.
  • Create a safe physical and intellectual learning space with established rituals, routines, and responsive strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, agencies, and staff to support the holistic development of students.
  • Interact with paraprofessionals and special educators, providing interventions as needed.
  • Reflect on lesson effectiveness, seek improvement ideas from supervisors and colleagues, and contribute to planning interventions.
  • Support families’ active classroom participation through culturally sensitive communication.
  • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, attendances, and punctuality for paperwork and duties.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and perform additional duties assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • Licensed by the Massachusetts DESE as an Early Childhood Education Teacher (Grades PreK–2) and, preferably, as a Special Education Teacher for Pre‑K.
  • SEI Endorsement on license preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an educational field.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood and elementary curriculum.
  • Ability to meet alternative qualifications as approved by the Superintendent.
Skills and Abilities
  • Use of educational software, School System Database, Microsoft Office, Google products, and web-based learning tools.
  • Selection and application of appropriate training and instructional methods.
  • Strong written and oral comprehension, expression, and communication skills.
  • Team‑player attitude with respect and constructive collaboration with colleagues.
