VP, Engineering & Quality

Position in Engineering – Beauty & Wellness division.

Location:

Marlborough, MA, Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 remote).

Responsibilities

The Vice President of Engineering & Quality leads the engineering organization for a $1B global Beauty & Wellness business unit, overseeing design, development, and quality of consumer products including home appliances, water filtration systems, humidifiers, consumer medical devices, beauty tools, and beauty liquids. The role reports directly to the President of the Business Unit and serves as a member of the leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving the engineering strategy and building organizational capability to deliver 30–40 new product development programs annually.
  • Leading a multidisciplinary engineering and advanced quality organization for execution across mechanical, electrical, hardware, firmware/software, materials, packaging, formulation, and quality disciplines.
  • Ensuring quality is built into every stage of product development and leading advanced quality engineering for design validation, risk mitigation, and problem‑solving.
  • Collaborating with Innovation, Supply Chain, Marketing, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment across the product lifecycle and support adoption of agile product development methodologies.
  • Managing relationships with 30–40 global OEM and JDM partners in China, Southeast Asia, Mexico, and the United States to integrate design‑for‑manufacturing principles and cost optimization.
  • Coaching and mentoring engineering leaders across multiple directors and senior managers, building a culture of innovation, ownership, and high performance.
  • Serving as the technical voice of the organization within the Business Unit leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics.
  • 15+ years of engineering leadership experience in consumer products or related industries.
  • Experience leading large multidisciplinary engineering organizations (40+ engineers preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience developing consumer appliances, medical devices, or beauty devices.
  • Strong understanding of high‑volume manufacturing including electronics, PCBA, plastics molding, and final assembly.
  • Experience working with global OEM/JDM manufacturing partners.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and quality frameworks such as ISO
    13485, ISO
    9001, FDA medical device regulations and CPSC safety standards.
  • Domestic and international travel required, approximately 10–15%.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience with emerging technologies and product concepts 2–3 years ahead of commercialization.
  • Strong understanding of design‑for‑manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with agile product development methodologies.
