Our client is a leading life sciences company that develops and manufactures tools and materials used in the production of biologic drugs. They are looking for a skilled Process Engineer III to join their growing team in Middlesex County, MA. This is a great opportunity to contribute to an innovative life science organization!

Pay rate: $50 - $67/hr doe

Job type: 6‑month contract (possibility of extension or hire)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Process Engineer to be a key member of a manufacturing and process development team within the life sciences industry. This role focuses on the technology transfer of chemical manufacturing processes and will lead equipment and process validation activities, as well as future process optimization and scale‑up initiatives. The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with strong communication, leadership, technical, and operational skills who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Job Functions
  • Lead installation, operational, and performance qualifications of process equipment (IQ/OQ/PQ) and process validation activities.
  • Support implementation of new chemical processes by generating process flow diagrams (PFDs), mass and energy balances, and conducting safety (HAZOP) and quality risk assessments (FMEA).
  • Lead the development and execution of work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical support for process deviations, including investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Drive process improvements through data‑driven decision‑making and process analysis.
  • Promote and reinforce a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of relevant industry experience, including experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience with process validation, technology transfer, and manufacturing process optimization preferred.
  • Safety‑first mindset.
  • Knowledge of process and equipment validation methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of ISO standards, risk assessments, deviation investigations, and change control processes.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Understanding of statistical tools and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
  • This position requires work in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments.
  • The Process Engineer will work closely with production personnel and cross‑functional departments.
  • Travel may be required as part of the role.
