Principal Electrical Engineer – Power System Technical Lead (Navy Shipboard)

Position Type:

Security Clearance:
DoD Secret, active and existing required after day 1
Required to obtain and maintain U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
Job Responsibilities- Direct an engineering team to develop technical solutions based on system performance and operational specifications.
- Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion systems.
- Resolve production, technical, and installation issues related to existing Raytheon or subcontractor product designs; may require travel to shipyards.
- Perform design work within given schedule and cost constraints.
- Present technical data reviews to program leadership, technical staff, and customer community; manage related risk discussions.
- Lead small teams to achieve schedule, budget, and technical execution goals.
- Engage in personal technical growth and facilitate growth in peers and junior engineers.
- Travel to Tewksbury, MA;
Marlborough, MA;
Andover, MA;
Woburn, MA as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum eight years experience in power system design, power conversion, power distribution, power sub‑system design, and/or control systems.
- Experience with Naval Shipboard Electrical Standards (e.g., MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-917, MIL-STD-461).
- Ability to maintain an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience leading teams within the Naval Shipboard Power business sector.
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Hardware development experience in a DoD environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead/manage a technical team.
- Experience generating technical documentation and reports.
- Knowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system components.
- Experience interfacing with procurement and manufacturing and external suppliers.
- Experience managing technical, cost, and schedule risks and opportunities.
- Experience with project management tools such as Earned Value and/or Agile Execution.
- Proposal development experience.
- Experience interfacing with DoD customer community.
- Salary range: 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD.
